How to pitch crypto media for sponsorship
Crypto media get a lot of generic requests. A short, specific message with a clear question gets answered. This guide shows how to pitch a crypto media for sponsorship (or sponsoring, as many call it): what to include, and copy-paste templates for email and DM. Last updated October 2026.

What a good pitch includes
- Who you are. Your name, project and one sentence on what you do.
- Why this media. One specific reason their audience fits you. This is what separates your message from a mass email.
- What you want to buy. A sponsored post, an ad slot, an episode, a partnership.
- Timing and budget range. It saves a round of back and forth.
- One clear question. "Could you send your rates, formats and availability?"
- Easy to answer. Short, with one link at most.
Subject lines that get opened
- Sponsorship inquiry: [Project] x [Media]
- Quick question about working with [Media]
- [Project] + [Media]: sponsored [post / episode / video]?
- Ad slot in [Newsletter]
Templates
Replace everything in [brackets]. Edit the first lines so they sound like you.
First email: sponsorship inquiry
Subject: Sponsorship inquiry: [Project] x [Media] Hi [First name], I'm [Your name] from [Project]. [One sentence on what you do.] I follow [Media] and think its audience is a good fit for us because [specific reason]. We would like to explore [a sponsored post / an ad placement / a sponsored episode]. Our budget is around [range] and we are aiming for [timing]. Could you send your rates, formats and availability? Thanks, [Your name] [Link]
Short DM (X or Telegram)
Hi [First name], I'm [Your name] from [Project]. [One sentence on what you do.] We would like to explore a sponsored [post / episode / video] on [Media] around [timing]. Could you share your rates and availability?
Newsletter ad inquiry
Subject: Ad slot in [Newsletter] Hi [First name], I'm [Your name] from [Project], [one sentence]. I read [Newsletter] and your readers look like the people we built this for. Could you tell me: - which ad formats you offer (top sponsor, mid-issue, classified) - your price for each, and your send frequency - the open rate and the audience size you can share - your next available dates Thanks, [Your name]
Podcast sponsorship
Subject: Sponsoring [Podcast] Hi [First name], I'm [Your name] from [Project]. I listened to [recent episode] and [one specific thing you liked]. We would like to sponsor an episode or a series. Do you offer host-read spots, and what are your rates and availability? Thanks, [Your name]
Follow-up after 5 days
Hi [First name], Following up on my note about [a sponsored post on Media]. Happy to share more details or adjust the format to fit your audience. Is this something you are open to? Thanks, [Your name]
Replying with a counter-offer
Hi [First name], Thanks for the rates. [Package] looks right for us, but [budget / timing] is a constraint. Would [adjusted option, such as a smaller format or two placements at a package price] work? If it does, I can confirm this week. Thanks, [Your name]
Before you send
- Read the media's sponsor or contact page and follow its instructions.
- Check that your product is something their audience would use.
- Send one message to one person. Do not copy dozens of media into the same email.
- Know your limit: price, format and dates you can accept.
Common mistakes
- A long message about yourself and no question.
- No mention of why this audience fits.
- Promising results or asking the media to promise them.
- Following up every day.

What should a crypto media pitch include?
Who you are, what you do in one sentence, why their audience fits, what you want to buy, your timing and budget range, and a clear question: rates and availability.
Should I pitch by email or by DM?
Use the contact route the media prefers. Many list a sponsor page or an email. A short DM is fine for X and Telegram accounts that take requests that way. Email works better for budgets and details.
How many times should I follow up?
Once after about five days, and at most twice. After that, move on to the next media.
Should I state my budget in the first message?
A range helps the media tell you quickly what fits. If you prefer not to, ask for their rate card first and negotiate from there.
